Tips for a Natural Looking Breast Augmentation

ROXY Plastic Surgery Natural Breast Implants

Dr. Grawe provides her top tips for a natural looking breast augmentation at ROXY Plastic Surgery

You used to be able to spot a woman with breast implants from a mile away. But as the times and technology have changed, so has the “go big or go home” mindset. Over the years, both surgeons and the makers of implants have refined their approach—while women have adjusted their wants and expectations—leading to more natural-looking results, and more women than ever opting for breast augmentation surgery.

So, how can you get the breasts you’ve always wanted and a natural look?

It always begins with discussing your goals with your doctor, and working together to find the solutions that work best for you.

Below are a few considerations you’ll need to make during that process.

Before deciding on breast implants, you’ll want to think about your lifestyle. Are you very active? Do you travel a lot? Are you a mom? Something women often overlook is the impact larger breasts can have on their day-to-day. Even a subtle change in size can change the way you move, the way your weight is distributed, or be the difference between breasts that do or don’t “get in the way” sometimes.

Breast implants are measured in cubic centimeters, or ccs, and come in a variety of sizes. They also vary in height and width, making it easier to choose a combination that fits your body type. For a more natural look, you’ll want to select something that’s proportionate to your entire body.

Looking at before and after photos of women with similar builds can help you decide what you like. Or by trying on samples or sizers that your doctor has, you can play Goldilocks to figure out what’s too big, what’s still too small, and, ultimately, what’s just right. And don’t be surprised if the size you end up choosing is larger or smaller than what you initially thought you’d want.

What Is BII and Why ROXY Plastic Surgery is an Advocate for Breast Augmentations

Round, or contoured—your choice. Round implants are perfectly symmetrical on all sides, while contoured have a more “teardrop” design. With more fullness and weight at the bottom, just as a natural breast has, the teardrop design is often a popular consideration for natural-looking breast implants. However, the look can be achieved by either shape, and depending on certain factors, round might actually be best for your body.

Breast implants come in two material types: saline and silicone. Saline implants are first inserted into your breasts and then filled with the optimal amount of saline solution for the outcome that you’re looking for. Silicone implants are made with silicone gel and designed to mimic the feel of human fat for more natural-feeling breasts.

Gummy Bear Implants at ROXY Plastic Surgery

As if you didn’t have enough to choose between, at ROXY, you now have the choice of gummy bear silicone implants! Having nothing to do with candy, gummy bear implants:

  • Have a thicker consistency of silicone gel than traditional silicone implants
  • Are firmer
  • Keep their shape better
  • Have reduced rippling and spread of silicone if the implant ruptures

It might also help to consider what will be comfortable for the activities you like to do, such as if you enjoy running every day or are a gymnast. When choosing, it could help to discuss your lifestyle and body type with your breast augmentation doctor to get their advice on what size, shape, and other features will work best so you can be comfortable and happy with your results.

  5. Millie Hue says:

Thanks for pointing out that the teardrop design will look more natural since it has more weight at the bottom just like the real breast. I guess I will choose this for the implants that I wanted to have to ensure that it will not look fake. I just need to do this since my breasts are too saggy now after giving birth to three kids.

  6. I like how you mentioned that breast implants come in two material types. Someone I know is looking at possibly getting breast augmentation services. I want that person to find the best procedure for them.

  8. Thank you for your tip to choose a breast size that fits with the size of your entire body. My back has been aching because my breasts are too large. I’ll be sure to remember this tip if I decide to get breast augmentation surgery.
