HOW IT WORKS
Consultation and Planning
When you come to a consultation at ROXY Plastic Surgery, Dr. Grawe will examine you and determine if you are a good candidate for a liquid rhinoplasty. You will discuss how the procedure works and you will be able to talk about a specific plan for your specific wants and desires. You can even have your treatment the same day if you are ready.
A nonsurgical rhinoplasty is done with filler in the office while you are awake and takes about 30 minutes. There is minimal discomfort and we use numbing cream so that you can be comfortable during the procedure. You can apply make-up over the area immediately.
You will notice a difference immediately after your procedure although you will have some minor swelling. It is rare but possible to have some bruising as well. You will need to sleep with your head elevated for the first week and stay on your back so you do not move the filler.
You should not exercise for 3 days after this procedure. You should not massage or touch the area. You should not wear glasses for 2 weeks after the procedure.
Remember that everyone is different. Recovery times and progression is not the same for everyone. The times stated are typical for healthy individuals healing from this surgery. The normal progression of healing may be different for those with health problems, smokers, and those who have unforeseen complications after surgery.
With every treatment there are risks involved including bleeding and infection – but these risks are very rare with a Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty:
this is minimal and can be decreased by not taking blood-thinning medications (Advil, Motrin, Coumadin, Plavix, Lovenox, herbal medications, Vitamin E and others) and by using ice before and after the procedure.
If the filler is superficial, this can lead to swelling. After two weeks the
natural swelling has decreased. At this point, if we need to dissolve some of the filler to make it look better, we can do that in the office.
If you do not have full correction of the treated area, you may need to address other issues. We will discuss the full recommendations during your consult and
may add additional treatments to your plan.
