J-Plasma by ROXY Plastic Surgery
If you have a little bit of loose skin around your abdomen arms, legs or face, J-Plasma (Renuvion) might be the right choice for you. This technology is coupled with liposuction to tighten skin from the inside. It uses plasma energy and radiofrequency to create permanent results. No other treatment has been able to use minimally invasive techniques to tighten skin without large scars!

HOW IT WORKS
Consultation and Planning
When you come to a consultation at ROXY Plastic Surgery, Dr. Grawe will examine you and determine if you are a candidate for J-Plasma (aka Renuvion). This treatment doesn’t replace skin excision treatments after pregnancy or massive weight loss – if you have a large amount of loose skin, a tummy tuck or other skin excision may benefit you. This treatment can be used on most all areas of the body and is great for patients who might have loose skin after liposuction.
This treatment is commonly performed with liposuction but can also be done alone if there is no fat in that area. There are tiny incisions made in hidden locations and then tumescent fluid is used to create tunnels under the skin. Fat is then removed, and the area is sculpted to the desired shape. The J-plasma wand is used under the skin to shrink the collagen.
J-plasma treatment does not add additional recovery to liposuction. Most people have some discomfort after surgery similar to a bruise feeling. This is easily taken care of with pain medicine which will be prescribed for you by Dr. Grawe. You will be wrapped in compression bandages after the procedure which will help decrease the swelling. There will be some bruising which goes away over the next few days
J-plasma provides some skin tightening immediately but the final results continue to improve over 6-9 months as the collagen becomes tighter and the skin rejuvenates.
Remember that everyone is different. Recovery times and progression is not the same for everyone. The times stated are typical for healthy individuals healing from this surgery. The normal progression of healing may be different for those with health problems, smokers, and those who have unforeseen complications after surgery.

With every surgery there are risks involved including bleeding, infection, blood clots, pain, scarring, delayed healing and need for further surgery. Here are some complications specific to J-Plasma:
Most people are not symmetrical from one side to the other and there may be asymmetries after surgery as well.
The scars are placed in hidden locations but scars are permanent. The scars fade and improve over time. There may be a scar that looks worse than normal and additional treatments can be done to improve the result.
J-Plasma uses heat provided by Plasma which also cools the skin immediately. A burn would be extremely rare.
If Dr. ROXY recommends skin excision surgery like Abdominoplasty or Brachioplasty, J-Plasma may not give you the best result. If you choose to have J-Plasma rather than a suggested skin excision procedure, you may be disappointed with the amount of skin tightening. J-Plasma cannot tighten muscles as in abdominoplasty.
