1. Refresh Your Look

Let’s face it: Winter is harsh on the skin. And with regular aging thrown into the mix, you might feel like your skin has lost its youthful luster by the end of the season. If your crow’s feet are looking more prominent than usual or your lips aren’t quite as full as you’d prefer, there is an effective non-surgical solution: dermal fillers.

Dermal fillers – like Voluma and Volbella – can beautifully fill fine lines and surface depressions, including nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and vertical lip lines. These injectables can also be used to enhance the lips by restoring lost volume. Most dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance found in the human body, so there is little risk of adverse reaction from this treatment.

To fully refresh your look for spring, consider starting the season with a liquid facelift. A liquid facelift combines different types of injectables – such as dermal fillers, Botox, and Kybella – to subtly treat the signs of age without surgery. From eliminating a double chin to gently lifting sagging tissue, the liquid facelift can do it all – and there are no incisions required. 2. Swap Your Cleanser

A great cleanser should form the foundation of your skin care routine. But your skin’s needs change throughout the year, so what worked in winter might not work now. While spring means warmer weather and more outdoor activities, unfortunately, many people also experience more breakouts during this time of year. To get the upper hand against pimples, you’ll need to swap your cleanser for something that contains acne-fighting ingredients.

When searching for a new cleanser, look for skin care products that control oil. If you see ingredients like salicylic acid, lipo-hydroxy acid, and benzoyl peroxide, then you’re on the right track. These ingredients will keep oil at bay without stripping your skin of moisture.

3. Enjoy the Sun… Responsibly

When it comes to spring skin care tips, one thing you can always count on being mentioned is sunscreen. And for good reason: Sun damage is the leading cause of some of the first signs of aging. At first, you may notice fine lines and wrinkles. Eventually, sun damage can lead to decreased skin elasticity, discoloration, and skin cancer.

But it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the warmer weather when spring arrives. To get the most out of spring and protect your skin, be sure to wear SPF every day. Try to use an SPF of at least 30, and always choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

What is broad spectrum and what does it mean for your skin? The sun’s ultraviolet rays produce UV radiation, which is made up of UVA rays, UVB rays, and UVC rays. Most UVC rays don’t reach the earth’s surface, but UVA and UVB rays certainly do. Both UVA and UVB rays can damage the skin and cause skin cancer. Broad-spectrum sunscreen helps block both of these types of ultraviolet rays.

It’s important to wear sunscreen even if you don’t plan on being outdoors a lot. Just a small amount of sun exposure can harm your skin. Most glass windows effectively block out UVB rays, but not UVA rays, which means it’s possible to get sun damage even when you’re indoors or inside of your car.

4. Rejuvenate and Rebuild Your Skin

Spring is often associated with rebirth and new beginnings – so why not approach your skin care with the same attitude? During spring, many turn to rejuvenating treatments to keep their skin looking radiant, smooth, and supple. One treatment in particular that has become popular is PRP therapy (platelet rich plasma). PRP therapy is an innovative treatment that is so effective at skin healing and regeneration that it’s even used in sports medicine.

This treatment begins with a simple blood draw, similar to a routine lab testing. Afterward, the blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma from the rest of the blood components. This platelet rich plasma is then extracted and injected into the treatment area. It is often combined with microneedling, which helps the plasma penetrate your skin through tiny microinjuries. This specific combination of treatments is the aptly named, “Vampire Facial,” which can help you get that radiant, ageless look for spring.

You might be wondering why blood is so effective when used for anti-aging treatments. Here’s why: Blood platelets contain growth factors, which are essential in wound healing. This treatment essentially jumpstarts the body’s own healing process right at the source. The result of PRP therapy is increased collagen production, improved skin tone and texture, and progressive rejuvenation to last the entire season.

By incorporating these spring skin care tips into your routine, you can maintain beautiful skin throughout the year!
