HOW IT WORKS
Consultation and Planning
At your personalized consultation, Dr. Grawe will examine your chest and determine if you are a candidate for pectoral augmentation with implants. You will hear how the surgery works and also recommendations on what type of implant would work best with your physical features. If you have photos of what you are looking for, you can bring those in to share with Dr. Grawe. Together, you will decide if pectoral implants can help you reach your goals.
Pectoral Augmentation is an outpatient surgery so you can go home the same day. The surgery takes about 2 hours and you will be asleep so you won’t feel or remember anything. You will have a small scar in your underarm area so there is no sign of surgery on your chest. The implant is placed below your chest muscle to create a natural look. The stitches are dissolvable and underneath your skin. After your Pectoral Implants are placed, you will be wrapped in compression for comfort.
With pectoralis implants, you will have definition that looks natural and strong. You will feel confident without your shirt on and love how you look in the mirror.
With every surgery there are risks involved including bleeding, infection, blood clots, pain, scarring, delayed healing and need for further surgery. Here are some complications specific to Pectoral Implant Surgery:
Infections in the presence of an implant are harder to treat than infections in normal body tissues. If an infection does not respond to antibiotics, the implant may have to be removed for a period of time..
Scar tissue, which naturally forms internally around the implant, is normal soft and you cannot see it or feel it. If bad scar tissue forms, it can tighten around the implant looking un-natural, firm, and possibly painful. Excessive firmness around the implant can occur soon after surgery or years later and is not predictable. This problem may require surgery to correct.
